5/10/16 Fishing Report: 1st Place Small Boat Division In Saltwater Shootout!

I joined the “Controlled Slack” fishing team for the 2016 Pompano Beach Shootout. We won 1st place small boat division and 22nd overall out of 145 boats. We were able to weigh 63.9 lbs of tuna and kingfish. We made the run to fish my home waters near Boynton Inlet and the decision paid off with some decent Blackfin tuna fishing. We managed to land 3 out of 4 tunas hooked, all weighing 13 to 20 lbs. Around 2pm we went offshore and we found frigate birds with small dolphin under them. We landed a 7 pounder before heading back inshore for a big kingfish or cobia. We caught a small cobia, a 10 lb kingfish, and quite a few bonito before calling it a day. We also hooked into 6 sailfish during the tournament, even though they didn’t count towards the money it is good to see them out there. The peak of our offshore and inshore fishing season is upon us and I expect great fishing all around for upcoming charters. We are now offering charters on a tournament rigged 25′ Competition that was used during this tournament (pictured below). Call Captain Chris at 561-451-7646 to book a trip today!

25′ Competition Center Console is now available for charter for $550 half day.

Spring break is in full swing and I have been fishing every day. Yesterday morning we had a great inshore trip,  catching and releasing 11 snook and 2 jacks. In the afternoon we had an offshore charter and caught 3 Blackfin tuna and 4 bonito. In the evening we had a night inshore fishing charter and caught 1 snook, 7 sunshine bass, and 1 spinner shark. This morning I had an offshore charter and caught 1 wahoo, 1 tuna, and 2 bonito. The bite should continue to improve as warmer temps bring more fish into the area. 03/09/16 Boca Raton Fishing Report

Hi this is Captain Chris Agardy with Wednesday morning’s fishing report. Last week I had 7 offshore charters on the big boat with exceptional weather. Our main target was wahoo and we caught at least one on nearly every trip! We also had a few nice mahi mahi when the winds started to blow on Sunday. This week the ocean is rough so I will be doing some inshore charters. Stay tuned for report! Here is a video I put together highlighting last week’s catches:

Wahoo Fishing Charters
This 39″ wahoo was landed by an 11 year old during our afternoon charter on Sunday. We were trolling along a temperature break 3 miles offshore when the wahoo decided to eat one of our deep baits. We had 4 wahoo bites during the afternoon charter and we landed this one. The wahoo will be immortalized as a fish mount from Gray Taxidermy. You will also notice we caught a nice mutton snapper and 2 vermillion snapper while bottom fishing at the end of the half day charter.

African Pompano Charters
Obed from New Jersey landed this beautiful 27″ African Pompano during a morning half day charter on Sunday out of the little boat. This rare catch occurred while we were bottom fishing over a shipwreck with cut bait. The fish was legal size to harvest so it came home with us for the dinner table.

Vermillion Snapper Fishing
Here are two nice Vermillion snapper caught during the morning charter on Sunday. They were caught using cut bait near the bottom.

Queen Triggerfish Fishing
We caught and released this beautiful queen triggerfish during Sunday mornings half day charter on the small boat.
