Hi this is Captain Chris Agardy with Wednesday morning’s fishing report. Last week I had 7 offshore charters on the big boat with exceptional weather. Our main target was wahoo and we caught at least one on nearly every trip! We also had a few nice mahi mahi when the winds started to blow on Sunday. This week the ocean is rough so I will be doing some inshore charters. Stay tuned for report! Here is a video I put together highlighting last week’s catches:

(11/30/15) Boca Raton Fishing Report: Hi this is Capt. Chris Agardy with the Boca Raton fishing report and forecast for the last week of November. During the past week we had very windy and blown out conditions that forced us to run our charters mostly in the intracoastal. Fortunately, the inshore fishing was very good along the intracoastal water where we were able to find some protection from the wind. The week started off on Monday with great snook fishing action at the Boynton spillway. My customers were able to land 8 snook between 24″ and 27″ as well as 40 jack crevalle in the 2-4 lb range. The fish were biting on live baits during the whole morning trip. It turned out to be one of the best inshore fishing trips of the month with non stop action while fishing the spillway canal.

On Wednesday the fishing was much slower, but we managed to catch a 3 jacks up to 12 lbs, 1 mutton snapper, 1 lookdown, 1 catfish, and 1 alligator gar that weighed around 12 lbs. All of these fish were caught on live shrimp and threadfin herring. On Friday we took out the big charter boat to fish for mackerel along the intercostal waterway, as the high winds were still blowing offshore. We were surprised to find a school of legal-sized kingfish inside the intracoastal, and our customers had a blast reeling in their limit of king mackerel using live baits in only 10 feet of water! Back at the dock no one could believe that we had such an incredible catch in the intracoastal. We caught all of the kingfish on light spinning rods, adding to the excitement of an epic inshore fishing charter. We finally made it offshore fishing on Sunday with a group on the big boat.

Despite 6 foot seas, we were able to land 2 nice dolphin while trolling a mile offshore at the beginning of the charter. After about an hour, the customers wanted to try their luck back in calmer waters ion the intracoastal. We were able to find the same school of kingfish from earlier in the week and we landed two 6lb kings before heading back to the dock at lunch time.

Captain Chris’ Fishing Forecast: It looks like we will be dealing with light onshore winds for the upcoming week, and I expect the dolphin fishing and sailfish fishing to be good offshore. The inshore fishing should be decent for jacks, mackerel, and the occasional snook or tarpon. Call me if you are looking to get out on the water!

Hi this is Captain Chris Agardy with Thursday’s Boca Raton fishing report. Yesterday morning we went trolling along the dropoff on the big boat during calm seas and a South flowing current. The fishing was a bit slow, but we managed to land 6 bonitos and a 10 lb kingfish in front of Boynton Inlet. We were using mullet, ballyhoo, and bonito for bait. Most of the bites came about 1 to 2 miles offshore as we were trolling back and forth over several reef ledges. I expect the fishing to really heat up for sailfish, blackfin tuna, and mahi mahi as the Northeast winds pick up over the end of the week and the weekend. Hi this is Captain Chris Agardy with the Boca Raton fishing report and forecast for November 11, 2015. On Thursday morning I fished a morning half day offshore charter with a few visiting anglers looking to bend a rod while they were in town. During 4 hours of trolling we were able to land 2 dolphin, 4 blackfin tuna, 2 bonito, and 4 barjacks. One of the dolphin was undersized so we had to release it, but overall it was a fun morning of trolling offshore. We were using bonito strips and ballyhoo for bait, and all of the action came right out in front of the inlet only 15 minutes from the dock. The current was moving to the North pretty good and there were plenty of flying fish around. Usually these two factors make for good offshore fishing…

On Saturday morning we had an offshore half day charter in choppy conditions with a hard East wind and no current. We started the day trolling and managed to hook up to 2 sailfish at once around 9am. We lost both fish, but it was fun to see these magnificent gamefish eat our baits right behind the boat. After trolling for another hour with no bites we switched our tactic to live bait fishing with goggle eyes under a kite. Around 10am we hooked up with a small Dusky shark that put on quite a show while trying to eat one of our live baits that was struggling near the surface 20 feet from the boat. One of our junior anglers grabbed the rod and after a short battle we had the shark in the boat for some pictures before releasing it. Our next bite came around 11am and it was another Dusky shark. Unfortunately, the shark bit through our monofilament leader, so we never landed it. Overall it was a slow morning of fishing with 2 sailfish bites and 2 shark bites, but our customers were very happy with their morning. Even if the fishing is slow, when the customers are happy, I am happy!

On Sunday morning I had an inshore fishing charter on my small boat along the intracoastal waterway. We started the morning at 8am buying a few dozen live pilchards from Gary at Dynamite live bait, then we headed to some local canals to fish a couple bridges that had been producing snook and snapper the past couple weeks. Unfortunately the fish had lock jaw, and we were only able to manage a few short bites from snappers and small jacks during the first three hours a fishing. During the final half hour of the trip we decided to fish near the Boynton Inlet for some tarpon and jacks in the main intracoastal channel. With 10 minutes left in the charter we finally hooked up to a nice jack on 6 lb test spinning gear. I had 2 junior anglers on board that took turns fighting the fish on the light tackle. They were very excited when we netted the jack and we snapped some good photos before calling it a day.

Overall, it was a very slow weekend for fishing, but our customers had a blast and we are optimistic that the fishing will turn red hot this week! Call me if you would like to book an inshore or offshore trip, I have plenty of openings this week. Thanks,
