I get plenty of inquiries about split charters where each person pays their own share to split a charter with other anglers. We do not offer these kind of split charters, but there is a fishing charter boat named “Fish envy” located 15 minutes North of Boca Raton that offers splits for $130 per person. FishEnvy fishing charters take place aboard a sport fish boat that can bring up to 6 guests for half day trips. If you are looking for split trips please visit fish envy Fish Envy’s website here. If you would like to book an affordable private charter, then “fish envy” with Capt. Chris Agardy is the right boat for you. You can reach Chris at 561-451-7646.
Sailfish Season Aboard Fish Envy Fishing Charters
Sailfish are present year round in the waters offshore of Boca Raton, but the Winter months are when they school up and migrate through our area in the greatest numbers. Starting in November, boats using kites with live bait can expect to hook double digit numbers of sailfish during cold snaps. Sailfish are catch and release only, but they are one of the most sought after gamefish in the Boca Raton area. Sailfish jump numerous times after they are hooked and they put on one of the greatest shows of any fish in the angling world.
Cobia Season Aboard Fish Envy Fishing Charters
Cobia are most abundant during the Winter and Spring months, when they are migrating through the Boca Raton area. Early in the season, the most cobia are found traveling with Stingrays along the beach, feasting on crabs and small fish kicked up by the ray. The best way to target the cobia along the beaches is by sight fishing from a boat with a bridge or a tower. A higher vantage point will help to see the cobia swimming along the sandy bottom. Once a school of cobia has been found, it is common to hook up to multiple fish at the same time. It is very important to be prepared with multiple spinning rods to pitch baits to these cobias before they spook to deeper water.
Kingfish Season Aboard Fish Envy Fishing Charters
Kingfish are one of the most common species encountered in the offshore waters of Boca Raton. Customers on deep sea fishing charters can expect to catch kingfish year round within a mile from the beach. During the Spring, the biggest kingfish of the year can be caught with live bait. Every trip during April and May could result in a kingfish exceeding 50 lbs. Trolling with baits deep in the water column will also account for plenty of bites from school-sized kingfish in the 5 to 15 lb range. Kingfish are good table fare, especially when smoked on a BBQ grill.
Wahoo Season Aboard Fish Envy Fishing Charters
Wahoo is one of the most elusive offshore species in this part of the state, but they can be targeted as close as a mile offshore the beach. In fact, some of the biggest wahoo of the year follow schools of bonito into waters as shallow as 70ft during late Summer and Fall months. Wahoo average 15-30 lbs off Boca Raton, but occasionally anglers will hook into wahoo in the 40-70 lb class. The biggest wahoo will wreak havoc on light tackle, and the best chance to land these fish is by using 50 lb class reels loaded with at least 500 yards of line.
Tuna Season Aboard Fish Envy Fishing Charters
The tuna fishing peaks around May/June, when anglers can expect to hook into blackfin between 20-30 lbs. These tuna will regularly take trolled baits, but live baits with light leaders will get the most bites.
